Position Description
Toptal is seeking an experienced, results-driven SEO Analyst who will be responsible for analyzing data and obtaining insights for use in daily activities and projects which will be focused on increasing the organic visibility of the Toptal website. This person will be responsible for interpreting market, web, and business metrics to identify high-impact optimization opportunities and working cross-functionally with product, engineering, and content teams to implement them. This role will also have a heavy focus on conducting experimentation, Technical SEO, and helping maintain and build our analytics capabilities.
This is a remote position that can be done from anywhere. Due to the remote nature of this role, we are unable to provide visa sponsorship. Resumes and communication must be submitted in English.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor and report on KPIs, share with the SEO and adjacent teams, and quickly respond to divergences.
- Help design SEO experiments and test new strategies and opportunities for growth.
- Analyze SEO test results and execute next steps at a fast pace.
- Analyze keyword, traffic, user and business trends to gain insight and take action.
- Lead, manage, and prioritize projects that involve cross-functional stakeholders.
- Grow the business through technical SEO, data analysis, and various optimizations.
- Participate in understanding each department’s SEO needs and evangelizing SEO.
- Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports.
- Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics, and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality.
- Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems.
- Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets.
- Filter and “clean” data by reviewing reports and performance indicators to locate and correct coding problems.
- Help locate and define new process improvement opportunities.

Requirements:
- BA/BS degree or equivalent experience (preferred in quantitative fields such as economics, mathematics, statistics, or computer science/engineering).
- Demonstrable track record of success at driving significant results & business growth
- 3+ years of web analytics experience with enterprise level websites (i.e. hundreds of thousands or millions of pages).
- Advanced excel/google sheet skills and SQL is required.
- Superior analytical, problem-structuring, and problem-solving skills; experience synthesizing data into information, and presenting concise analyses.
- Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques.
- Experience with text analytics.
- Experience with Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Tableau, Kibana strongly desired.
- Experience and knowledge of statistics and statistical packages for analyzing datasets using R and/or Python.
- Functional knowledge of JavaScript, CSS and HTML or is strongly desired
- Ability to analyze optimization needs of webpages is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of and experience with reporting packages (Business Objects etc), databases (SQL etc), programming (XML, Javascript, or ETL frameworks) is desired.
- Knowledge of SEO tools and data sets, and an understanding of search engine workings are a plus.
